An Underwater Kindergarten Adventure

Since the start of COVID times, school in Washington went totally online. My mom is a Kindergarten teacher and had to deal with a surprise burst of not only online teaching, but online teaching to kindergartners; which was a great challenge to say the least. Over the course of the back of the school year my mom and I shot and edited seventeen kindergarten lessons and quickly we learned that we wanted to spice em up a bit.

So we started adding in a dash of Visual Effects and Filmmaking to get the kids excited at the lessons they were learning. It was so much fun having 5 year olds as an audience. It reminded me of what inspired me when I was that age and I tried to channel that as much as I could in creating this video. I mean, who doesn’t want to go on an undersea adventure through your house and beyond to discover a mysterious glowing fish??? I know I do. Something to really get their imagination running and excited to learn how to write!

All of it was either shot on my iPhone or there were fully CG shots created in Blender and After Effects.

It was really fun to make!
